1. The Mistletoe Motive
Gabriella, a passionate holiday enthusiast who adores Christmas down to every tinsel-trimmed detail, finds herself at odds with her co-manager Jonathan, a notoriously grumpy, no-nonsense type who’d rather skip the season altogether.
So, you can guess that this is an Enemies to Loves trope. 😉
As they navigate the bookstore’s financial troubles, they’re thrown into a high-stakes December competition where only one will secure their job.
But beneath them endless arguing (the banter is adorable), an undeniable attraction begins to simmer and this is a lovely Slow-Burn novel!
2. Lovelight Farms
I have a soft spot for nature and magic in general.
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is the ideal holiday romance for anyone who craves a blend of coziness, charm, and a heartfelt storyline.
The story centers on Stella Bloom, a passionate farm owner facing financial trouble. In a desperate attempt to save her beloved Lovelight Farms, Stella enters a contest offering a generous prize and publicity—but there’s a catch. To win, she needs to convince the judges her farm is a romantic holiday destination. So, she ropes in her best friend of nearly a decade, the sweet and steadfast Luka Peters, to pretend to be her boyfriend.
The chemistry and tension between them are electric, full of adorable, laugh-out-loud moments and I like that the heartfelt scenes are full of emotional depth.
While friends to lovers may not be the trope everyone gravitates toward, the genuine warmth between Stella and Luka won me over!
3. There’s Something About Merry
If you’re a fan of Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist, you’ll love this!
Clark is a single dad and has recently moved to the town of Mistletoe. He starts chatting with merry on a Dating app.
And that’s where their chemistry shines and sparks fly.
I loved the texting exchanges – they’re so fun and flirty!
And just like in the previous book, Mistletoe’s cast of characters is unforgettable.
Plus, the hints at future romances—particularly between Merry’s sister Holly and a nearby store owner—make it very sweet!
4. How to Excavate a Heart
Shani’s a little lost, both emotionally and in the snowy streets of D.C.
She’s fresh off a breakup, trying to navigate her first big solo gig in paleontology, and the last thing she expects is a whirlwind romance. Enter May—a girl Shani quite literally runs into with her mom’s car during a snowstorm. Awkward, right? But also so sweet.
Their chemistry builds from there in such a charming, unexpected way. May is just as complicated as Shani, and the journey of them finding each other is a mix of funny, awkward, and incredibly touching moments.
One of the best parts?
The setting is perfect for the season. The snowy streets and museums give a cozy winter vibe, making it a great book to curl up with. Plus, the cast of characters—Shani’s best friend and even her family—add layers of humor and warmth.
How to Excavate a Heart is a perfect blend of witty banter, relatable struggles, and just enough romance to make your heart feel warm all winter long. You’ll fall in love with Shani, May, and maybe even find yourself Googling internships in paleontology!
5. A Merry Little Meet Cute
This has got all the rom-com vibes with a twist!
Bee Hobbes, a plus-size adult film star, somehow lands a role in a wholesome, family-friendly Christmas movie. There’s just one small hiccup: the producers have no idea about her other acting gigs.
Things get even more interesting when she finds out her co-star is none other than Nolan Shaw, a former boy-band heartthrob looking to clean up his image.
Their chemistry? Off the charts!
Bee and Nolan are both trying to keep things professional, but the playful, steamy spark between them is impossible to ignore. Their banter and the inevitable “will-they-or-won’t-they” moments add tons of excitement and laughs.
Plus, the setting—a snow-dusted holiday movie set—is totally magical, and the side characters bring all the holiday cheer and behind-the-scenes drama. Fans of Murphy and Simone’s writing will especially appreciate how these two worlds (wholesome and spicy) collide to make a story that’s hilarious, heartwarming, and refreshingly different.
A Merry Little Meet Cute is perfect if you want a laugh-out-loud holiday read with loads of charm, swoon-worthy moments, and a reminder that everyone deserves their own holiday romance.
